A safe and secure work environment is fundamental to an organisation’s ability to attract and retain quality personnel, staff morale, and productivity and the loss of the ‘safe workplace environment’ reputation can be devastating, expensive and difficult to recover from.
The management of risk is not only good corporate governance practice, it is an essential corporate governance obligation. Depending on the nature of the risk, risks may need to be addressed as a statutory requirement of work health and safety legislation, or to meet a specific directive such as the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), or to fulfil common law duty of care requirements and mitigate occupiers’ liability.
At the helm of Ulong Risk Management is Peter Smith. With a Federal law enforcement background, a degree in security science, and as a court recognised subject matter expert in security and emergency management since 1996, Peter is well placed to ensure the risk owner’s compliance requirements are met and, if necessary, survive the scrutiny of any legal procedure.
At Ulong Risk Management we can provide an end-to-end solution from the assessment of risk through to the development and implementation of the policies, procedures and training regimes necessary to meet statutory obligations, regulatory authority requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
